A recognised Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology qualification is required for our Level 3 Pilates Teacher Training certifications.
If you don't already have this qualification, don't worry. We offer an Anatomy and Physiology add-on package to help you meet the prerequisite requirements.
Absolutely.
Many of our students join us with no previous teaching, fitness or healthcare experience. What they do have is a passion for Pilates, a curiosity about movement and a desire to help others.
Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds, including office professionals, teachers, healthcare workers, business owners, parents returning to work, and individuals looking for a complete career change.
Age is no barrier either. We've supported students in their 20s through to their 60s and beyond to successfully qualify as Pilates teachers.
Our programmes are designed to develop your knowledge, confidence and teaching skills step-by-step, meaning you don't need previous teaching experience to get started.
If you love Pilates, enjoy learning and are motivated to help others improve their health and wellbeing, you already have the most important qualities needed to become a successful Pilates teacher.
Not at all.
Pilates is a profession where life experience is often a huge advantage. Many successful Pilates teachers begin their training later in life and bring valuable communication skills, empathy, professionalism and real-world experience to their teaching.
We've trained students ranging from their 20s to their 60s and beyond, many of whom have gone on to build rewarding careers teaching Pilates.
Whether you're looking for a complete career change, a flexible part-time role, or a way to turn your passion for Pilates into a profession, it's never too late to start.
Not necessarily. Many of our students begin their journey as Pilates enthusiasts with no previous teaching experience. Others come from backgrounds such as personal training, physiotherapy, sport rehabilitation, yoga or fitness instruction.
Our courses are designed to develop your knowledge, confidence and teaching skills, regardless of your starting point.
Absolutely.
Our courses have been designed to fit around work, family and other commitments. Most students continue working alongside their studies and complete the programme through a combination of in-person training, self-study and practice teaching.
This depends on the course and the amount of time you dedicate to your studies.
Most students complete their certification within 6–12 months, allowing time to develop practical teaching experience, complete coursework and build confidence before qualification.
Pilates teachers work in a wide range of settings, including:
• Pilates studios
• Health clubs and gyms
• Physiotherapy clinics
• Rehabilitation centres
• Sports performance facilities
• Wellness retreats
• Corporate wellbeing programmes
• Community health settings
• Self-employed private practice
• Online teaching
Many teachers combine several of these settings to create a varied and rewarding career.
Choosing a Pilates teacher training course is an important investment in your future career, so it's worth looking beyond marketing claims and accreditation logos alone.
Whilst accreditation can be important, the quality of your education is ultimately shaped by the knowledge, experience and support provided by the people delivering the training.
Before enrolling on any course, we recommend asking:
• Who are the educators delivering the programme?
• What qualifications and professional experience do they hold?
• Do they actively teach Pilates clients?
• Do they have experience working with injury, rehabilitation or specialist populations?
• How much real-world teaching experience do they have?
• What support and mentoring is available during and after qualification?
• Will you gain practical teaching experience as part of your training?

At Equilibrium Pilates Education, all qualifications are developed, delivered and awarded by Equilibrium Pilates Education and are taught by experienced healthcare and movement professionals with backgrounds in physiotherapy, sport rehabilitation, clinical Pilates and education.

Our programmes are designed to go beyond simply teaching exercises. We help students develop a deeper understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, movement analysis, rehabilitation principles and client-centred teaching, preparing them to work confidently with a wide range of populations and abilities.

Upon successful completion, graduates are able to obtain appropriate instructor insurance and teach professionally in a variety of settings, including Pilates studios, health clubs, rehabilitation environments, private practice and online.

Most importantly, choose a provider whose values, teaching philosophy and level of support align with your own goals. The right course should not only help you gain a qualification, it should help you become a knowledgeable, confident and successful Pilates teacher.
We believe that great teacher training goes beyond course content. That's why we've built multiple layers of support into every programme.
As a student, you'll have access to:
• Dedicated mentor support throughout your training
• The ability to contact your mentor with questions as you progress through the course
• A student community forum where you can connect with fellow learners, share experiences and ask questions
• Tutor support during practical training days and live online sessions
• Feedback and guidance to help build your confidence and teaching skills
• Ongoing encouragement from experienced educators who understand the challenges of learning to teach Pilates
Our aim is not simply to help you pass an assessment, but to support you in becoming a knowledgeable, confident and successful Pilates teacher.
You'll never be left to figure things out on your own. We're here to guide and support you every step of the way.
Our qualifications are awarded by Equilibrium Pilates Education.

Yes. We strongly recommend that all students obtain appropriate student instructor insurance whilst completing their practice teaching hours.

Student insurance provides protection whilst you are gaining practical experience and teaching under the scope of your training programme. Many insurance providers offer affordable student policies specifically designed for Pilates teachers in training.

Practice teaching is an important part of becoming a confident and competent instructor, allowing you to apply your learning, develop your teaching style and gain valuable real-world experience before qualification.

If you're unsure which insurance provider to use, we're happy to provide guidance and recommendations during your training. Once qualified, you will need to obtain full professional instructor insurance before teaching independently.
